Guidelines for Virtual Oral Presentation

1. Title of the Presentation – International Medical Congress 2023

  • It is recommended to keep the title of the poster the same as in the submitted abstract. Slight modification, which does not change the idea of the abstract, is allowed

2. Format of the Presentation

  • Presentation must be submitted in PDF/PowerPoint format.
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the limit of 12 PPT slides for your presentation.
  • Plan to cover 6-8 points/sentences per slide while keeping the number of words to a maximum of 8-10.
  • Keep it simple and Illustrate the major points. It is advised not to use every detail of what you have in mind.
  • Be sure your slides are clear of grammatical and spelling errors.
  • Once the presentation is prepared, proofread with care to content.

2. Lettering

  • Kindly use both UPPER and lower case letters for general content, as all-capital text is difficult to read. It is recommended to use a 24 or bigger Times New Roman font style for the content of the presentation.
  • Make sure there is enough contrast between the color of the text and the presentation’s background.
  • Text and presentation should be in ENGLISH only.

Guidelines for Virtual Poster Presentation (Preparation of the Poster)

Due to the virtual nature of the conference, we are only accepting Electronic Posters (E-Posters) in PDF/Powerpoint format. Printed posters or photographs of printed posters will NOT be accepted.

1. Title of the Presentation – International Medical Congress 2023

  • It is recommended to keep the title of the poster the same as in the submitted abstract. Slight modification, which does not change the idea of the abstract, is allowed

2. Poster size and format

  • The poster must be submitted in PDF/PPT format.
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the limit of 6 PPT slides for your E-Poster if you decided to prepare your poster in PPT format.

3. Your Information

  • The top of the Poster should display, in the lettering of 18 Bold (Times New Roman), the following information:
    1. Title of your Paper
    2. Name(s) of the author (s)
    3. and Affiliation(s)

4. Lettering

  • Kindly use both UPPER and lower case letters for general content, as all-capital text is difficult to read. It is recommended to use 14 Times New Roman font style for the content of the poster. You are allowed to use a bigger font if you prepare your poster in PPT format.
  • Make sure there is enough contrast between the color of the text and the poster background.
  • Text and presentation should be in ENGLISH only.

5. Content

  • Make sure that the specific sections (such as the background, methods, results, and conclusions) are easy to locate in the poster.
  • Try to keep the text easy to read and concise. The poster should have a clear message, a logical layout, and be easy to comprehend.
  • Avoid the use of full sentences and rather use short text in bullet point format
  • Avoid using watermarks that may detract from the readability of your poster.

6. Illustrations

  • Illustrations are the most important part of the poster and will attract the most attention. Colorful charts and graphs are the easiest to read. Explanatory illustrations should be used instead of text whenever possible.
  • Use only static images and do not embed any videos or animation in your poster.
  • Try to utilize the space on your poster as creatively as you can to attract the audience and make sure that the images are easy to understand.

 What do you need?

  • Desktop or laptop with a webcam
  • A suitable headphone
  • Faster internet connection
  • The latest version of Zoom https://zoom.us/download

  1. Before you connect, please make sure to close other applications that are running except PowerPoint.
  2. Please click the below to go to the Zoom
  3. Then please type the below username and password or the meeting link provided by the organizer to join the online conference
  4. Once you have joined the conference you will be given access to unmute/mute yourself as well as to switch the video on/off yourself.

How to present?

  1. First, open your PowerPoint presentation.
  2. Then please click the green color button “Screen Sharing“ below your screen.
  3. Then select your PowerPoint presentation screen and share it.
  4. Then click the slide show mode of your presentation
  5. Once the presentation is over please click the stop sharing button in red color

Please note that only you can do these steps and please make sure to be thorough with these steps to save time.

Do you know everything?

  1. Virtual Oral presenter time allocation: 12 Mins for presentation and 3 mins for Q & A
  2. Virtual Poster presenter time allocation: 7 mins for presentation and 3 mins for Q & A
  3. Please stick to the presentation time. We will ring the bell twice when it reaches the end time.
  4. Please make sure to mute yourself when others are presenting.
  5. Please make sure you have a strong internet connection.
  6. Please use a headphone/headset to avoid background noises.
